Mark you calendars! SSWAA will offer two book clubs this summer run by the book authors. Read the book and join the webinars at 1:00 pm EST on the specified dates to earn 6 CEUs. Participants must attend all sessions to receive CEUs. It is a great opportunity to learn with your peers and explore the authors thoughts as they wrote the book.

This book presents an overview of the impact of trauma on children and adolescents, in addition to interventions for direct practice and collaboration with teachers, families and communities.

23rd Annual National School Social Work Conference

    March 18-21, 2020 (Exhibit dates March 18-20, 2020)

The School Social Work Association of America would like to invite you to join us at our 23rd National School Social Work Conference to be held on March 17-21, 2020, in Baltimore, MD, at the Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace Hotel. Organized in 1994, the School Social Work Association of America (SSWAA) is the only national organization solely dedicated to promoting the profession of School Social Work to enhance the social and emotional growth and academic outcomes of all students. SSWAA supports professional school social workers by providing training opportunities to practitioners in the use of evidence-based practices to meet the needs of students, families and schools.

School Social Workers are daily on the front lines addressing the serious and intricate needs of children and their families. As mental health professionals, we are trained to assess a student’s social/emotional needs as well as family and community factors interfering with a student’s learning and school functioning. School Social Workers provide the vital link between the school, home and community agencies in obtaining needed therapeutic and/or community services. In addition to providing resources to families; School Social Workers also provide psycho-social assessments, individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, classroom presentations, consultation and case management services to address the increasingly complex needs of students and/or their families especially in these difficult times.

Contributing as a sponsor, advertiser and/or exhibitor, you will be able to increase your exposure to School Social Workers from all around the country as well as around the world, with an attendance of 500+. We hope that you will seriously consider supporting the work of School Social Workers by including our Conference in your promotional plans and look forward to hearing from you soon.
