Ethical Record keeping in the Internet Age (Part 1) - 1.5 CEUs

Friday, June 7, 2019, 12:00pm – 1:30pm Eastern online webinar

Presented by: Dr. Jim Raines, PhD, LCSW

Description and Goals:

Social workers have been keeping records for over a hundred years, but the introduction of the internet age has created new opportunities and challenges for school social workers. The first part of this workshop will cover 4 common ethical questions:

  • Privacy – What information should I collect? (How intrusive should I be?)
  • Accuracy – How objective should the information be?
  • Confidentiality – What information should I protect?
  • Access – Who should be able to read or review?

The first workshop will have 4 learning goals:

  • School SWs will learn what types of material to collect or not collect.
  • School SWs will learn how to ensure that the information is accurate.
  • School SWs will learn ways to protect confidential information.
  • School SWs will learn guidelines for allowing access to others.

Please note that all webinars are being recorded and will be available even if you are not able to attend during the actual webinar event.
